WEST INDIES
The West Indies team finally seems to be back into the groove as they managed to score back-to-back wins in a bilateral series against India in the T20 format since 2016. They will now look to bag the series by winning this match.
Nicholas Pooran has shown exceptional form. His recent exploits in the IPL and the MLC seem to have had a massive positive impact on his performance and has played an instrumental role in leading his team to wins in matches, and is the leading run-getter of the tournament. However, it is now the turn of other batsmen to step up. Kyle Mayers and Brandon King haven’t been able to give the team a solid start.
Shimron Hetmeyer and Rovman Powell will be the key player for the hosts during the middle order. Much will depend on how the West Indian batsmen tackle the Indian spinners. Romario Shepherd has the potential to be a good all-rounder but he will need to work on his batting skills.
He has bowled well though, picking up 2 wickets in each game and the team will bank on him to bowl another good spell. Alzarri Joseph, Akeal Hosein, and Jason Holder have all contributed to the team’s good performance.
INDIA
After losing consecutive matches, all eyes will be on skipper Hardik Pandya as to if and how he can script a comeback for his team. Pandya has made some baffling decisions so far, including not allowing India’s premier spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, and using Axar Patel as purely a batsman in the 2nd T20.
India appears to be lacking in batting depth and the long tail has adversely affected the team’s prospects. Ishan Kishan’s poor form in the T20s since the start of this year continues and hasn’t been able to perform well at the top of the order. Surely it is time to bring in Yashasvi Jaiswal at this stage?
Similarly, Shubhman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav have failed to bring in the form that they displayed during the IPL. Tilak Varma has been the find of the series for team India and will be a vital cog in the team going ahead. Ravi Bishnoi, who replaced Kuldeep Yadav in the last match, went wicketless and was quite expensive.
Chahal and Pandya have done a decent job with the ball, picking up 4 wickets each, while Arshdeep Singh and Mukesh Kumar have been quite expensive.

PITCH AND CONDITIONS
The pitch at the Providence Stadium is quite hard and offers a good amount of bounce. There is light grass on the surface which will assist the seamers early on. The pitch however is a bit two-paced and the spinners will be in action throughout the match. A score of around 160 is a par score.
The weather is expected to remain warm and humid with slight drizzling.
